Tanjung Benoa, July 24, 2026 – To strengthen the institutional governance of community groups engaged in turtle conservation and nature tourism management, an activity was carried out to establish legal entities for three turtle conservation groups and nature tourism facility provision businesses in Tanjung Benoa. This activity is part of the Community Service Program of the Faculty of Law, Udayana University, led by Dr. Made Gde Subha Karma Resen, S.H., M.Kn.
This activity aims to provide legal certainty for turtle conservation groups so they have strong legal standing to carry out conservation activities, collaborate with the government and the private sector, access assistance and funding, and develop nature tourism facility provision businesses based on conservation and sustainability principles.
This program was attended by various stakeholders with strategic roles in coastal conservation, including the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA), the Ngurah Rai Nature Reserve (Tahura Ngurah Rai), the Bali Turtle Conservation Group Association, and the Coastal and Marine Resources Management Agency (BPSPL). The presence of these agencies demonstrated a shared commitment to strengthening synergy between the government, academics, and the community to preserve turtles and the coastal ecosystem in Tanjung Benoa.
The event emphasized the importance of legal entities as a foundation for community groups to carry out conservation activities professionally, transparently, and accountably. With clear legal standing, groups are expected to increase their organizational capacity, expand partnerships, and develop ecotourism activities that provide economic benefits to the community without compromising environmental protection.
This event is expected to strengthen the three turtle conservation groups in Tanjung Benoa as institutions and serve as examples of sustainable community-based conservation management, while simultaneously supporting the development of nature tourism that aligns with the preservation of biological resources in Bali Province.
