JIMBARAN – The Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries at Udayana University (FKP Unud) held the peak event of its 15th Anniversary and Community Gathering under the theme “Samudra Muda, FKP Udayana” (Young Ocean, FKP Udayana). This celebration served as a pivotal moment for FKP Unud to reflect on its institutional journey while solidifying its strategic role in the development of sustainable marine and fisheries science and technology.

During the event, the Dean of FKP Unud, Prof. I Wayan Nuarsa, outlined the faculty’s history—from its inception to its current status overseeing four study programs. He also presented the achievements regarding Key Performance Indicators (IKU) for 2026 and acknowledged the faculty’s various strategic accomplishments throughout the year. These achievements included 12 international academic and research collaborations, as well as the execution of four international-scale activities, such as short courses, internships, and community service programs. Concluding his remarks, the Dean expressed his hope that FKP Unud would continue to enhance its achievements, expand its global network, and make tangible contributions to the advancement of science and technology in the marine and fisheries sectors.

The 15th-anniversary celebration went beyond mere ceremonial activities; it began with a tangible initiative involving the harvesting and stocking of catfish fry. Additionally, the “FKP Awards” were presented to lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and partners, alongside special recognition for high school and vocational school (SMA/SMK/MA) students from across Bali who won the Essay and Poster Competition.

Representing the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Agoes Ganesha Rahyuda, S.E., M.T., Ph.D., the university leadership extended congratulations on the 15th anniversary and expressed the highest appreciation for the achievements of FKP Unud. The theme “Samudra Muda” (Young Ocean) conveys a profound message: FKP Unud must serve as a dynamic space fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of outstanding human resources capable of addressing global challenges—ranging from climate change, food security, and the blue economy to the well-being of coastal communities.

This 15th-anniversary celebration serves as a springboard for FKP Unud to achieve greater institutional maturity and academic strength, while expanding collaborations for the future of Indonesia’s maritime sector.
