The Bachelor of Architecture Study Program at the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, hosted the 11th Conference of Interdisciplinary Research on Real Estate (CIRRE). The event took place on Thursday (October 8, 2026) at the Bali Sindhu Beach Hotel in Sanur, themed “Bridging Cultural Heritage and the Future: Collaborative Solutions for Resilient and Livable Communities.”

Visaca Organizing Committee Chair Dr. Ratih Salain stated that the event was a collaboration between the Institute of Real Estate Studies, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Udayana University. Its goal was to create an interdisciplinary forum linking research, professional practice, and policy. She added that 45 presenters attended the event to share their papers during parallel sessions.

“We hope today’s exchange of ideas inspires enduring partnerships and contributes to fields—architecture, housing, real estate, and the built environment—that are more inclusive, sustainable, and supportive of community well-being,” she explained.

Meanwhile, CIRRE Organizing Committee Chair Prof. Bojan Grum noted that, together with VISAKA and Udayana University, the conference connects real estate research with architecture, culture, tourism, and urban spatial planning. He emphasized that CIRRE brings together researchers from diverse fields, such as engineering, architecture, real estate, planning, business, psychology, and social studies.

“We believe that a multicultural organization like this can broaden our horizons and advance our research,” he explained.

Udayana University’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., explained that this international collaboration offers an opportunity for Udayana University to demonstrate how local and global knowledge can complement one another. He hopes that the discussions and research presented at this conference will not merely result in academic publications but will also yield recommendations and generate a positive impact on society.

“Research findings must contribute to professional practice, evidence-based policymaking, new research collaborations, and, ultimately, societal well-being. It is hoped that this conference will produce high-quality scholarly publications, practical policy recommendations, and long-term collaborative networks among institutions in Southeast Asia and Europe,” he stated.

The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between CIRRE and the Faculty of Engineering at Udayana University, marking the establishment of a partnership between the two institutions.
