FIB Unud Hosts Peak Celebration of 68th Anniversary and 45th Family Body (BK) Milestone at Nias Campus, Denpasar, Under the Theme “Echoes of the Yellow Campus: Preserving Tradition, Responding to the Earth”

Denpasar — ​​The Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Udayana University (FIB Unud) held the peak celebration event for its 68th Anniversary and the 45th anniversary of its Family Body (BK) on Wednesday (September 30) at the Widya Sabha Mandala Auditorium, FIB Unud Nias Campus, Denpasar. The event was attended in person by the Rector of Udayana University, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, the Dean of FIB, other deans from across the university, institutional leaders, professors, lecturers, administrative staff, representatives from partner organizations, alumni, and students.

In her report, the Organizing Committee Chair, Eirenne Pridari Sinsya Dewi, S.S., M.Ed., stated that this year’s series of commemorative events had been underway since the beginning of the year through various academic and social activities. This year, the event adopted the theme “Echoes of the Yellow Campus: Preserving Tradition, Responding to the Earth.” This theme stems from the realization that, as individuals dedicated to cultural sciences, we bear a dual responsibility: we safeguard the heritage of language, literature, history, and tradition; “…and at the same time, we must step up to meet the challenges of the times, ranging from technological advancements to the environmental crisis,” he said.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) at Udayana University, Prof. I Nyoman Aryawibawa, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., read out the testament of the founders of the Udayana University Faculty of Letters, originally entrusted on September 29, 1958. The Dean also outlined the faculty’s strategic achievements, spanning from accreditation upgrades to innovations in the digitalization of governance.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the achievements and dedication of the FIB Udayana academic community. The Rector noted that the long journey of FIB Udayana laid the foundation for the establishment of Udayana University itself.

“On behalf of the Udayana University leadership, I highly appreciate the performance of the Dean and his team. Of course, we believe that none of this could be accomplished by the leadership alone; it is the result of the efforts, cooperation, and collaboration of the entire FIB academic community. This demonstrates that through collaboration and synergy, we can advance further in the future,” stated Prof. Sudarsana.

The series of events marking the 68th Anniversary and 45th Faculty Day of FIB Udayana concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the *tumpeng* (yellow cone-shaped rice) and a social gathering. Through this occasion, FIB Udayana reaffirmed its identity as an institution that upholds the values ​​of culture, kinship, and service, while continuing to contribute to the advancement of cultural studies at both national and international levels.
