Jember – Delivering an outstanding performance on the national stage, the Vocal Group team representing Udayana University (Unud)—part of the Bali contingent—successfully secured the *Juara Harapan* (Honorable Mention/Runner-up) title at the 2026 National Student Arts Week (PEKSIMINAS XVIII) held at the University of Jember, East Java (September 7–10, 2026). The members of the Unud Vocal Group team were Verenita Silvia Situmorang, I Wayan Brahmani Novus Abasan, Joswises Mangisi Tua Hutapea, Ni Putu Ayu Jessica Lydiastini Abby Putri, Zevanya Wilhelmus Colson Satu, Alberto Edwardo Mulumbot, and Ni Wayan Ari Kesuma Wardani. The success of these seven students demonstrates that the quality of the arts at Unud is capable of competing at the national level. This achievement also serves to inspire other students to continue honing their non-academic talents, while simultaneously strengthening the creative climate and performing arts ecosystem within Bali’s higher education community.
Based on the accumulated final scores and awards, the Bali Province BPSMI (Student Arts Development Agency) ranked 7th among the ten provincial delegations with the best achievements at PEKSIMINAS XVIII 2026. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone in the students’ journey, encompassing the preparation, rehearsal, and competition processes required to showcase their best work on the national stage.
During the closing ceremony, the Director of Learning and Student Affairs, Dr. Beny Bandanadjaja, S.T., M.T., expressed his appreciation to all participants, BPSMI bodies, universities, the panel of judges, the organizing committee, and all parties who contributed to the success of PEKSIMINAS XVIII 2026. According to Beny, PEKSIMINAS is not merely a venue for determining who is the best. Moreover, this event serves as a platform for nurturing student talent through the arts while strengthening the creativity, character, self-confidence, and sense of togetherness among Indonesian students.
PEKSIMINAS XVIII acts as a meeting ground for student artists from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Throughout the event, students do not merely compete; they also meet, exchange experiences, build networks, and gain insight into the diverse artistic expressions found across Indonesia’s various regions. The 2026 PEKSIMINAS XVIII program concludes with an awards ceremony honoring the high achievers.
