KUTA, BALI — The Udayana–Mahendradatta Racana (Scout Unit) of Udayana University (Unud)—specifically the Badung 06-113/06-114 Scout Group—successfully organized the Udayana–Mahendradatta Racana Festival VI (RUM-FEST VI) 2026 on Sunday (September 6, 2026) at SMA Negeri 1 Kuta. Carrying the theme *Gati Samanvaya Siddhi Sāmarasya*—meaning “Synergy of Action, Harmony of Achievement”—the event served as an educational and competitive platform for the younger generation to develop character, creativity, leadership, and a drive for achievement.
RUM-FEST VI is grounded in the *Tri Bina Pramuka* (Three Pillars of Scouting): self-development, unit development, and community development. Through various activities and competitions, the festival served not merely as a contest, but as a platform for shaping a young generation that is disciplined, adaptable, and principled, and capable of making positive contributions to their surroundings.
The event series was officially opened by Drs. Wayan Budiasa, M.Si., the Deputy Chairperson for Assets and Enterprise of the Bali Regional Scout Council (Kwarda)—who also serves as the Head of the Bali Province Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM)—representing the Kwarda Bali Chairperson. Attendees included representatives from the Badung Branch Scout Council (Kwarcab), the Badung Regency Government, school principals, scout leaders, participants’ parents, the Bali Regional Working Council (DKD), the Badung Branch Working Council (DKC), as well as members of the Unud Student Representative Council (DPM) and Student Executive Board (BEM).
Participant enthusiasm was evident in the scope of RUM-FEST VI, which drew participants from both regional and national levels. At the Bali-wide level, 40 schools participated across various scouting tiers—ranging from *Siaga* (elementary school) and *Penggalang* (junior high) to *Penegak* (senior high) and *Pandega* (university students)—in competitions covering drill maneuvers (*LPBB*), Scout gymnastics, and public speaking.
Meanwhile, at the national level, the digital poster and essay competitions attracted participants from 24 public and private universities, eight senior/vocational high schools, and an open category. This demonstrates RUM-FEST’s continued growth as a platform for competition and creativity, successfully reaching participants across diverse educational levels and regions.
Following the conclusion of the competitions—which were conducted in a spirit of sportsmanship and objectivity—the event was officially closed by the Regent of Badung, represented by the Head of the Badung Regency National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol). During the closing ceremony, the winners of the “Best of the Best” Overall Champion trophies were announced: SD No. 2 Kerobokan Kaja (elementary level), SMPN 7 Mengwi (junior high level), and SMAN 2 Mengwi (senior high level).
In remarks delivered on behalf of the Rector of Udayana University, Ni Luh Nyoman Seri Malini—the advisor to the Udayana University Scout Student Activity Unit (UKM Pramuka)—it was emphasized that the Racana Udayana–Mahendradatta Scout Unit plays a strategic role as a “crucible” for shaping students’ character, discipline, and leadership qualities.
This commitment is further reflected in the unit’s achievement of “Paripurna” (Comprehensive) status in its Scout Group (*Gugus Depan*) accreditation—the highest tier of organizational governance within the scouting movement. Another achievement was secured by I Nyoman Triatmaja Putra from the Mathematics Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Unud, who was named a National-Level Exemplary Scout (*Pramuka Teladan*) for 2026.
Success was also achieved by Elly Trinova Yanti Manullang, a Diploma-3 Accounting student at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Unud. She won second place in the National Essay Competition at RUM-FEST VI with her entry titled “Finlife: A Family Financial Management Application Based on a Dual-Budgeting System as a Mitigation Strategy for the ‘Single Sandwich Generation’ Across Generations.”
Beyond the competition itself, RUM-FEST VI offered educational programs addressing challenges relevant to the younger generation. The Unud Scout Student Activity Unit (UKM Pramuka) partnered with the Badung Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to train Scout members as peer educators and anti-drug ambassadors. This collaboration is part of an effort to strengthen the role of young people in building community awareness and resilience against drug abuse.
In line with Udayana University’s transformation into a State University with Legal Entity status (PTN-BH), the university continues to reinforce its commitment to fostering student potential through research, innovation, achievement, and character building. The student ecosystem plays a vital role in shaping graduates who are not only academically excellent but also possess leadership qualities and a sense of social responsibility.
Through RUM-FEST VI 2026, the Racana Udayana–Mahendradatta (Unud Scout Unit) demonstrated its contribution to providing a platform for young people to learn and compete. The event serves as a tangible expression of the “Impactful Campus” spirit, encouraging students to create, collaborate, and play an active role in addressing societal challenges.
On that occasion, the Rector of Udayana University also invited the participants—particularly high school students—to pursue higher education and develop their leadership potential at Udayana University.
