DENPASAR — The Faculty of Agriculture at Udayana University (FP Unud) held an orientation session for the Independent Internship program for the Odd Semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. The event took place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in the Nusantara Room on the 4th floor of the Agrocomplex Building at the Denpasar Campus. This orientation served as a crucial preparatory step before students begin their hands-on placements with various institutions and industry partners.

The session was attended by the faculty leadership—including Vice Deans, Undergraduate (S1) Study Program Coordinators, and the Independent Internship Committee—as well as students from the Class of 2023.

For this period, 250 active students from three study programs within FP Unud are participating in the internship. The cohort comprises 151 students from the Agribusiness program, 77 from Agroecotechnology, and 22 from Landscape Architecture. To facilitate the program, the faculty has successfully partnered with 54 professional industry entities, ranging from agricultural enterprises and agribusiness corporations to professional laboratories.

During the orientation, students were reminded to maintain discipline in recording attendance and maintaining routine logbooks, as well as to consult with their Field Supervisors (DPL) at least three times during the internship period. These steps are vital, given that performance in the field heavily influences the final grade; specifically, 60 percent of the assessment is derived directly from evaluations by company mentors or industry partners.

Through this orientation, the Faculty of Agriculture at Udayana University hopes that students will make the most of this off-campus learning opportunity to build professionalism, a strong work ethic, and career networks, ultimately contributing to the advancement of Indonesia’s agricultural sector.
