JIMBARAN – A total of 6,799 participants participated in the 2026 Udayana New Student Orientation Program (PKKMB), which was officially opened by Udayana University Rector Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., at the Widya Sabha Auditorium on the Jimbaran Campus on Saturday (August 1, 2026). Prior to the opening of the PKKMB, Udayana University held an Inauguration Ceremony for New Diploma and Undergraduate Programs for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, inaugurating 6,610 new students who had completed the registration process. The difference in the number of inaugurated students and PKKMB participants is due to the scope of the activity. The New Student Inauguration Ceremony was attended by 6,610 students who had officially registered as new students at Udayana University for the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Meanwhile, the PKKMB (Enrollment Program) numbered 6,799, as in addition to new students, this activity was also attended by students from previous classes who had not yet participated.
In his report, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., stated that public interest in continuing their education at Udayana University remains very high. In 2026, the number of applicants through the National Achievement-Based Selection (SNBP), National Test-Based Selection (SNBT), and Independent Selection of Udayana University reached 38,812. After going through the selection process and administrative verification, 6,610 students were officially inaugurated as new students at Udayana University, consisting of 6,385 undergraduate students and 225 diploma students.
In his remarks, the Rector of Udayana University welcomed all new students who officially became part of the Udayana University family. According to the Rector, becoming a student is the beginning of a journey to develop intellectual capacity, character, integrity, and concern for society.
“On behalf of all the leaders of Udayana University, I extend a warm welcome and welcome you to the Udayana University family. Welcome to a campus that will shape you into individuals who are not only academically intelligent, but also mature in character, possess integrity in their actions, and demonstrate concern for society and the environment,” said the Rector.
The Rector emphasized that Udayana University continues to transform through improving the quality of education, research, community service, digital transformation, and internationalization to produce graduates capable of meeting the challenges of the times.
“Udayana University does not want to produce graduates who are merely ready to work. We want to produce graduates who are capable of creating jobs, generating innovation, becoming leaders of change, and benefiting society. Therefore, I encourage all new students to become agents of change who have a positive impact on the environment, the nation, and the world,” the Rector emphasized.
Furthermore, the Rector also emphasized the importance of building a safe, inclusive campus culture that upholds academic ethics. All students are expected to become a generation that rejects all forms of violence, bullying, discrimination, intolerance, and sexual harassment, and is able to uphold the good name of their alma mater through achievement and integrity.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the 2026 Prabhu Udayana Student Admissions Program (PKKMB), Dr. I Made Sukewijaya, S.P., M.Sc., reported that this year’s PKKMB attracted 6,799 participants, consisting of new students from the class of 2026, students from previous classes who had not yet participated, and international class students. Students from previous classes participated online, while new students and international class students participated in-person.
He explained that PKKMB is an important part in preparing new students to go through the transition process to become academic people who are independent, have character, and are able to make a real contribution to society. During the two days of implementation, participants will receive material regarding national life and national defense, the higher education system in Indonesia, higher education in the digital era, student character development, as well as local content at Udayana University. The material was presented by internal sources from Udayana University, the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office, as well as two public figures.
PKKMB Prabhu Udayana 2026 will continue on the second day, Sunday (2/8/2026), with a series of activities that focus on introducing student life at Udayana University. New students will be presented with the appearance of the Student Activity Unit (UKM) as a forum for developing interests and talents, followed by an introduction to university-level student organizations which include the Student Representative Council (DPM) and Student Executive Board (BEM), as well as an introduction to student organizations in 13 faculties. The activity will also be filled with the Knight’s Voice “Voice of 13 Faculties for Udayana”, which displays the spirit and identity of each faculty, before closing through Abhinaya Nusantara as a cultural performance at Udayana University, the Chancellor’s speech, handover of students to each dean, and the lifting of Kayon as the official symbol of the end of PKKMB Prabhu Udayana 2026.
Through the 2026 Prabhu Udayana PKKMB, Udayana University hopes that all participants will be able to adapt to campus life, understand the noble values of Udayana University, and become superior, independent, cultured and globally competitive people according to Udayana University’s vision.
