Holding Peksimida 2026, BPSMI Bali Scouts Student Artistic Talent for National Competition

DENPASAR – The Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, remains committed to encouraging Indonesian universities to achieve student achievement in various fields through various strategic competitions. One prestigious event that serves as a barometer for developing students’ aesthetic potential is the National Student Arts Week (Peksiminas). To systematically identify the best talent and maintain the quality of the national competition, the Bali Provincial Board of the Indonesian Student Arts Advisory Board (BPSMI) successfully held the Bali Regional Student Arts Week (Peksimida) on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Held at the campus of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali in Denpasar, Peksimida 2026 served as the main regional selection stage for the grand event, Peksiminas XVIII 2026. Through this rigorous and tiered competition system, it is hoped that the contingent sent to the national level will truly represent the highest quality, capable of strengthening the achievement ecosystem within higher education institutions.

Hundreds of Young Artists from 19 Universities Across Bali Attended
The Chair of the Organizing Committee, Dr. AAA. Ngurah Tini Rusmini Gorda, S.H., M.M., M.H., CCD, explained that the enthusiasm of universities in Bali for this year’s event was extraordinary. A total of 170 students from 19 state universities (PTN) and private universities (PTS) across Bali participated. They competed in 15 competitions, showcasing their talents and creativity.

In his remarks, the General Chair of the Bali Province BPSMI, Prof. Dr. I Komang Sudirga, S.Sn., M.Hum., expressed his appreciation for the synergy and active participation of all institutions. The universities participating in this intense competition include Udayana University, Warmadewa University, PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia University, National Education University, Ganesha University of Education, I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa State Hindu University in Denpasar, Indonesian Hindu University, Dwijendra University, Bali State Polytechnic, Kartini Health Polytechnic in Bali, Bali Institute of Technology and Health, STIKOM Bali Institute of Technology and Business, Indonesian Institute of the Arts Bali, Institute of Tourism and International Business, Indonesian Institute of Business and Technology, Bina Usada Bali Health College, Handayani Institute of Health, Mahasaraswati University in Denpasar, and Advaita Medika Tabanan Health College.
“To maintain objectivity, transparency, and high-quality assessment, BPSMI Bali presented 13 professional judges who are competent and independent in their respective fields,” he explained.

Udayana University Firmly Ranks in the Top Three as Overall Champion
Udayana University (Unud) has demonstrated its prowess as a powerhouse of student arts in Bali. Sending a delegation of 17 students representing 7 faculties, the Unud contingent participated in various prestigious competitions, including Vocal Group, Painting, Solo Vocal, Short Story Writing, Monologue, Poster Design, Play Writing, Poetry Reading, Seriosa, and Keroncong Song Singing. Based on the final results announced by the jury, Udayana University successfully secured the third place overall position after taking home a series of prestigious awards, including:
• 🥇 2 Gold Medals: Men’s Vocal Group and Pop Competition
• 🥈 1 Silver Medal: Women’s Keroncong Competition
• 🥉 2 Bronze Medals: Women’s Seriosa and Playwriting Competition
• 🎖️ 1 First Place Award: Poster Design Competition
• 🎖️ 1 Second Place Award: Painting Competition
• 🎖️ 1 Third Place Award: Short Story Writing Competition

Meanwhile, the first place overall title at the 2026 Bali Peksimida was won by the host, ISI Bali, followed by Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) who took the overall position. II

This achievement is not only a source of pride for Udayana University, but also serves as a valuable assessment and motivation for students to continue honing their artistic creativity and sportsmanship, in order to bring honor to Bali on the stage of the upcoming Peksiminas XVIII 2026.
