Jimbaran – Udayana University (Unud) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tahija Foundation as a strategic step to strengthen the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the areas of education, research, and community service. The signing took place at the Postgraduate Building, Unud Campus, Denpasar (Thursday, June 4, 2026).
Present at the event were the Rector of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D.; the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Made Sucipta, S.T., M.T., IPM; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT., Subsp.Onk.Ort.(K); the Chairman of the Tahija Foundation, Ir. Trihadi Saptoadi, MBA, and the Technical Advisor of the Tahija Foundation, Dr. Rudy C. Soesilo.
In his remarks, the Rector of Udayana University expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in Udayana University by the Tahija Foundation. He stated that collaboration with various partners is an important part of efforts to improve the quality of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
“The collaboration we will sign is expected to accommodate the implementation of education, research, and community service. Hopefully, this MoU will be the starting point for developing various broader collaborative programs in the future,” said the Rector.
The Rector also emphasized that Udayana University has great potential to expand collaboration through its 13 faculties and one postgraduate program. In the initial phase, the collaboration will focus on the field of medicine, particularly the development of programs that provide tangible benefits to the community.
Furthermore, the Rector hopes this collaboration can expand to support the establishment of centers of excellence in the health sector, including the development of ophthalmology services and education that can contribute to the wider community.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Tahija Foundation, Ir. Trihadi Saptoadi, MBA, stated that the collaboration with Udayana University is an honor for the Tahija Foundation. He emphasized that the foundation is committed to providing programs that have a real impact on society, particularly in the health sector.
“For the Tahija family, this kind of collaboration is part of our family passion. We hope that Udayana University can continue to grow as a center that helps communities in Eastern Indonesia, including East Nusa Tenggara and Maluku, through quality education and healthcare services,” he said.
According to Trihadi, the Tahija Foundation’s support for human resource development in the health sector is based on a desire to contribute to improving access to public healthcare services. He also commended the Faculty of Medicine at Udayana University for its hard work in preparing various programs that are part of this collaboration.
Through the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, Udayana University and the Tahija Foundation are committed to building sustainable synergy in the development of education, research, and community service. This collaboration is expected to produce various strategic programs that not only support improving the quality of higher education but also provide tangible benefits for public health development, particularly in Eastern Indonesia.
