Udayana University Holds The 5th International Education and Cultural Festival: A Manifestation of Campus Internationalization Strengthening
Denpasar – Udayana University, through the Office of International Affairs (KUI), once again held The 5th International Education and Cultural Festival (IECF) 2025 at the Nusantara Hall, Agrokomplek Building, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, on Friday (November 7, 2025).
This annual festival is a strategic agenda aimed at strengthening Udayana University’s internationalization program, in collaboration with various Consulates General of friendly countries in Bali and international education partners. The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs representing the Rector of Udayana University, Consuls General and Vice Consuls General from Australia, China, Japan, and India, the Head of the Office of International Affairs, as well as representatives from international educational institutions and universities such as the Tourism Confucius Institute (TCI), IDP Education Bali, Campus France Indonesia, AMINEF, IBEC (Indonesia Britain Education Centre), Naresy International Education Consultant, the University of New England, Excelsia College, and others.
In her report, the Coordinator of the Office of International Affairs, Putu Ayu Asty Senja Pratiwi, stated that the festival is a tangible form of Udayana University’s commitment to expanding its international network and introducing study and scholarship opportunities abroad to students. Carrying the spirit of “Education Meets Culture,” the event featured two main activities: the International Education Expo and Cultural Performances.
During the Education Expo, various consulates and international education institutions opened information booths on study programs, student exchanges, and scholarship opportunities. Meanwhile, the Cultural Performances showcased traditional dances, songs, and music presented by Udayana University’s international students representing the beauty of world cultures.
“This festival is not only a meeting point for educational institutions and diplomatic representatives from various countries but also a platform for students to learn more about international programs, scholarships, and cross-border study opportunities,” she explained.
Representing the Rector, Prof. Ir. I Nengah Sujaya, M.Agr.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Udayana University, officially opened The 5th IECF 2025. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation for the successful organization of the event, which embodies the spirit of global collaboration, cultural diversity, and international partnership.
“This event symbolizes the spirit of collaboration and global connection. Through this festival, we not only strengthen academic cooperation but also celebrate cross-cultural understanding, which is a vital foundation of modern education,” he remarked.
He further explained that Udayana University, as the oldest and largest university in Bali, currently accommodates more than 31,000 local students and over 1,000 international students from various countries. This reflects Unud’s active role as a center of learning, research, and cultural exchange in the region. The event also served as a moment to express appreciation to the Consulates General and international partners for their continued support in developing academic cooperation, student exchanges, and scholarship programs.
“This festival reflects Udayana University’s commitment to continuously strengthening its global network. We hope students take this opportunity to learn, interact, and broaden their intercultural perspectives,” he added.
On this occasion, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs also extended his gratitude to all diplomatic representatives and partner institutions in attendance, appreciating their commitment to supporting Udayana University’s mission of internationalization. The festival stands as proof that higher education is not only an academic space but also a bridge for cultural and humanitarian connections.
“Through education and culture, we are all connected as one global family,” concluded the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs in his closing remarks.
Following the opening session, the event continued with cultural performances by international students, showcasing the diversity of art and traditions from their home countries. Dances, music, and songs from various parts of the world were performed with great enthusiasm, creating a vibrant atmosphere of color, friendship, and unity among nations.
